Art has always been important to me, but I worked full time my entire life and retirement provided the first real opportunity to pursue my creative interests and nurture my artistic spirit. Before moving to Tucson my only “official” art training was pottery classes at the Stamford, Connecticut Nature Museum and drawing classes at the Silvermine Art School in Norwalk. I was pretty much self-taught.
Upon moving to SaddleBrooke in 2005, the SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild provided a forum for classes, exploration, support, encouragement from kindred spirits and annual art shows to display work. Oil is my primary medium, although I do work in pastel and dabble in watercolor. I continue to take classes when the opportunity arises and I am thankful to the Art Guild for offering those opportunities to the residents of SaddleBrooke.
After years of struggle, to become more “painterly,” I have given in to my “inner voice.” Thus, you see my realistic interpretations.
