I have always
enjoyed drawing, and in my high school years and in the military I was
an artist for a number of small newsletters and publications. A few
years after we moved to SaddleBrooke, I felt the urge to try my art
skills again. I never completed any formal art instruction so with time
on my hands I signed up for oil painting classes at the MountainView
Arts and Crafts center with instructor Loretta Sprigings.
I use water soluble
oil paint exclusively. This is true oil paint that has been modified to
make it soluble in water, eliminating the need for harsh solvents to
thin the paint. You can also clean your brushes and palettes using soap
and water.
I like to paint
landscapes, but through the encouragement of my instructor I recently
started portrait painting. If you have any questions about my paintings,
I can be reached at 825-8944.
