American Impressionism – Landscape

Unleash your ability to see color! Never again be shackled with brown shadows!

This workshop teaches students to paint with color to create the many moods and magical light effects of nature. Beginning and advanced students will both benefit from this unique approach to color perception. Students will learn the historic (Hawthorne/Hensche) "mud-head" approach to studying color relationships. We will advance our energy from simple still lives with colored blocks, to the great outdoors! We will take advantage of the breath taking views in Saddlebrooke. This will be a "Plein Air" class (painting out doors from life), weather permitting. If it is too windy, we will reconvene in the classroom and work from your photos.

Supply List

You may choose to work with oils, Water based oils, or Acrylics. We have permission to use the easels in the Topaz room, but if you have a plein air easel, I recommend using it.
