MIXING WATERCOLORS Instructor: Cherie Ann Gossett
Class Description: Learn to quickly & easily mix watercolors -- saving aggravation, making remixing to match easy, & saving expensive pigments. Use a six pigment basic palette. Understand watercolor pigment characteristics, to achieve the results you want. Lots of hands-on exercises -- the whole idea is to achieve mastery for yourself.

| Paints: | See attached lists of required lightfast tube paints. 9 paints

| Watercolor Paper: | 9" x 12" cold press 140 lb. water color paper in block or pad. |
| Watercolor Brushes: | One (1) round watercolor brush, #4, synthetic/sable blend, short
handle, such as Winsor & Newton Scepter Gold 101 Series or Robert Simmons Sapphire series One (1) round watercolor brush, #4 or #6, cheap and/or old, short handle, for mixing |
| Palette: | Plastic or porcelain palette with at least 12 wells plus mixing
area(s). Preferably round such as Jones Color Round II palette; Stephen Quiller Traveler Palette, Stephen Quiller Porcelain Palette; or Cheap Joe's Round Watercolor Palette |
| Water containers: | Two (2) jars or other water containers |
| For wetting palette: | One eye dropper or small spray bottle |
| Paper towels: | For cleanup or brushes & palette |
| For measuring: | One (1) 1" clear plastic ruler One (1) protractor Mechanical pencil & eraser |
| Note taking: | Notebook or sketch pad for taking notes (there will be
handouts). Pencil or pen. |
