STUDENT GALLERY APPLICATION & GUIDELINES

March 31 & April 1, 2012

The Guild considers a student artist to be a relatively new artist or one who is returning to the art world after several years who has taken art classes to develop her/his technical ability or sense of direction and creativity as an artist.

The Guild considers an accomplished artist to be one who participates in the Art Show or Gallery of Petite Art with the purpose of selling his/her product(s).  An accomplished artist should not consider himself/herself to be a student artist solely because she/he has taken a recent class and developed a new artistic style or media.

The Guild realizes that many student classes are asked to copy work of other artists for learning purposes or to use one printed source for all students in a class.  However, since these works are copies used solely for teaching purposes, the Guild requests that those pieces not be submitted to the Student Gallery.  The Student Gallery is to showcase Guild-sponsored classes and Students’ works while encouraging the Student to submit original pieces that come as a result of their class studies.
